London and Kent law firm Thackray Williams has announced four new Real Estate hires as it looks to expand its commercial and residential property offerings further.
Consultant Andrew Harborne will support commercial property clients with his expertise in non-contentious construction law, from site acquisition through design and build to onward sale. Nicki Rundle joins as a Senior Associate in the commercial property team covering the Sevenoaks and Kent areas, while Susan Collins becomes an Associate Solicitor in the commercial property department operating out of Bromley.
Liz Hutton joins the residential conveyancing team as a Senior Associate, operating out of the London office.
“We’ve traditionally had a very strong residential property reputation in South East London. The expansion of our property team supports our strategic plans of growing our Sevenoaks and Kent reach, building a stronger land development team, bolstering our construction law expertise and expanding our residential property services in London,”
says Vikki Herbert, head of Real Estate.
“Thackray Willams has a sense of energy and friendliness – I am delighted to have joined such a motivated and enthusiastic firm,”
Andrew Harborne said, adding,
“My experience means I understand everything within commercial property from cradle to grave – I can be the seam between the property and construction lawyers, as I know both sides of the coin.”
Partner Mustafa Sidki, who specialises in property litigation and dispute resolution, and will be working closely with Andrew said
“These days, the margins are so thin in construction that delays can be catastrophic, so it’s great to have Andrew on board to help to reduce the number and lengths of disputes and get construction moving again,”
Vikki Herbert concludes
“Having both Andrew and Mustafa in the team means we can provide comprehensive construction law services. We’re strongly positioned to advise on the implementation of the Building Safety Act 2022, both dispute resolution and contract drafting between house builders, management companies and contractors, as well as the growing Right To Light issues that we expect to see in urban areas. And, of course, we can support on the whole range of more traditional construction concerns, such as party wall issues, contract disputes and construction adjudications.”.
The expansion of the Bromley-headquartered firm has been achieved after moving away from the high street, increasing its emphasis on commercial work and breaking down the barriers between traditional legal silos by focusing on six sectors, offering holistic legal solutions for both private and commercial clients.
The firm recently made news with an innovative approach to its leadership team, announcing three of the team would take up the mantle of Managing Partner in April when current Managing Partner Sean Sanders steps down. The move is part of its ambitions to become a top 200 law firm after posting record revenues of £12.2 million for 2023/4, a rise of 9.1% compared to the previous year. The business is targeting revenues of £15 million by 2026/7 and £20 million by 2030.
