Home movers urged to get “MoveReady”

Home movers, estate agents and conveyancers are being urged to get “MoveReady” following the launch of a home moving app that will encourage vendors to instruct their conveyancer before listing their property, enabling compliance with the recently released Parts B & C requirements in the National Trading Standards Estate and Lettings Agent Team Material Information requirements.

“Conveyancers recall the challenges of the past and may have concerns that additional Trading Standards requirements could introduce similar complexities,”

acknowledges Matt Bateson, Co-Founder at MoveReady.

“However, we believe these changes present an opportunity to enhance the customer experience, if executed correctly. We encourage vendors to appoint their conveyancing professional before they put their property on the market. This means conveyancers have the opportunity to provide services and advice at the point when the material information is being compiled. This proactive approach helps protect customers, whilst increasing transparency.”

The business is hoping to synonymise the term “MoveReady” with readiness for property sales and will certificate properties that are “MoveReady” with associated material property information and the up front instruction of a property lawyer

“Compliance with regulations should be a smooth part of doing business, not a hurdle,”

continues Bateson

“While the experience for buyers and sellers is our driving force, we also recognise the smoother workflows that result for conveyancers, further enhancing the property ecosystem.

In an effort to better educate home movers, MoveReady has built a desktop and mobile “Fall Through Game“; an interactive, retro-style, online game designed to illustrate the impact of upfront information on reducing transaction fall-throughs, and calls on everyone in the industry to work together to embrace this evolution for good.
