Windsor-based residential and commercial property partner John Humphreys will retire from the profession after 43 years to spend more time with his family and his engage in his passion for rugby.
Humphreys joined Charles Coleman in 1981 after qualifying. He has remained with the firm for the duration of his career, becoming a partner in 1984, before handing over the baton to Nathan Kapoor when he stepped down as Managing Partner in 2023, moving to a part time role. In his time Humphreys has played his part in helping hundreds of people in Windsor, Slough, and beyond purchase and sell homes and supported companies in the local area to secure properties from which to base their businesses.
He has also overseen the growth and development of Charles Coleman, most recently acquiring Seakens Solicitors in 2023 which broadened the office base to cover Virginia Water.
Reflecting on his career he said
“After spending over four decades as a solicitor, I feel it is the right moment to spend more time focusing on my true loves – my family and rugby! Thank you to all the clients and colleagues who have shaped my career and supported me. It has been a privilege to work with and for so many wonderful people over the years, and I will always be grateful to all the clients who trusted me to represent them.”
John has had a long and illustrious career as a partner and property lawyer and will be much missed by his colleagues and clients, past and present.
