Rewarding Employers Who Care About Well-being: A Conveyancing No-Brainer

Celebrating employers who genuinely value their teams has never been more crucial. That’s why new search provider On Point Data think that ‘Employer of the Year’ is arguably the most important accolade at this year’s Surrey Law Society Legal Awards.

In 2023, we’re all too familiar with the concepts of ‘company culture’ and ‘work-life balance.’ But for employees at some organisations, it can feel like these valuable concepts have been reduced to mere buzzwords and box-ticking exercises. Companies that take tangible steps to consider the well-being of their employees are far from two-a-penny and deserve proper recognition.

Unfortunately, the conveyancing industry has, in part, become synonymous with the phrase ‘burnout.’ It has never been more critical for employers to focus on staff welfare. According to On Point Data co-founder Kevin Johnson, it is not only a ‘moral and ethical responsibility’ but also an intelligent business decision. ‘We know that colleagues who are well looked after and enjoy being part of our company demonstrate improved performance and productivity. We’ve always found that employees who feel their well-being is valued are generally more engaged and satisfied with their jobs. This leads to a more positive work atmosphere, better collaboration, retention, and improved team morale.’

In promotion of ongoing industry improvement, On Point Data have chosen to sponsor the newly minted ‘Employer of the Year’ accolade at this year’s SLS Legal Awards. “This is possibly the most important award given by the Surrey Law Society, and we’re delighted to support their initiative in bringing it forward. We know all the nominees and any of them would be worthy winners; we’re excited to see who comes out on top!”

Helen Opie, Surrey Law Society Chief Executive, had this to say about the new award:

“We wanted to introduce a category to the SLS Legal Awards that publicly recognised firms within the region who were employers of choice where people really want to work. It is clear from the quality of nominations received that this is certainly the case for our finalists. We’re incredibly grateful to On Point Data for supporting this award and look forward to celebrating the winner of this category with them on the night.”

Congratulations and best of luck to the selected finalists:
