National Conveyancing Week Highlights

During National Conveyancing Week, Angela Hesketh, our Head of Market Development UK, delivered an engaging presentation on PEXA’s journey and our vision for reimagining housing completions. Angela shared insights into the evolution of property transactions, particularly drawing from our experiences in Australia, and highlighted PEXA’s core pillars: Settlement, Lodgement, and Orchestration. The presentation also covered the efficiency and security benefits of digital completions and a look ahead at the innovative advancements set to optimise sale and purchase transactions.

Pay360: Transforming Property Payments

At the Payments Association Pay360 event, Andrew Lloyd, our UK Chief Customer Officer, led a panel discussion on “Transforming Transactions: The Future of Property Payments,” alongside Sukhy Atwal of ClearBank, John Jackson of the Bank of England, and Simon Eacott of NatWest. The panel explored the limitations of traditional property transaction methods and underscored the need for modern, digital solutions to enhance efficiency and security.

The event attracted significant attention and sparked fruitful discussions on the future of property transactions. We extend our gratitude to all speakers and attendees for a successful session.

Empowering Conveyancers with Open Data Standards

Angela Hesketh also recently authored an article on how open data standards can empower conveyancers to lead the future of property transactions. The article introduces the transformative potential of digitising property information and implementing a framework of provenanced and trustable data leading to information security and a resulting radical improvement in the homebuying process.

This initiative, in collaboration with the Open Property Data Association (OPDA), aims to revolutionise property transactions through the Property Data Trust Framework (PDTF), making data more accessible and interoperable across the industry.

Innovation in Property Transactions

Andrew Lloyd shared insights on “A New Era in Property Transactions,” discussing the introduction of Synchronised Real-Time Settlements in the UK. Drawing parallels with PEXA’s success in Australia, the article outlines the potential benefits of this system for the UK market, including improved efficiency, reduced risks, and enhanced consumer security.

Digital Conveyancing: Streamlining Property Transactions

Lastly, I was thrilled to personally contribute an article to the Mortgage Finance Gazette, discussing the key role of digital conveyancing in streamlining property transactions. Highlighting PEXA’s approach to addressing the challenges within the fragmented property market and outlined our strategic steps towards transforming the conveyancing landscape.
