On-boarding trial speeds up transactions by 7 weeks

A 12 month trial of an in-house on-boarding software has resulted in a reduction in transaction times of up to 7 weeks, say Derby-based legal, property and financial specialists, Sort Group.

The software, which was built but Sort Group themselves, includes the licensed Law Society protocol forms and third-party integrations with HooYu and Yoti Sign, which provide Biometric ID and AML checks. Clients are also able to complete their initial questionnaire and all relevant property forms via a secure online portal and electronically sign documents.

The system has been trialled at Sort Legal, the group’s in-house law firm, across remortgage, sale, purchase, and transfer of equity matters.

Recent five-star reviews include the following:

“Quick and easy app! “Very easy app. Easy to use, understand and clear in design. I thought the process was quick and was able to upload important documents from my phone with no hassle. What a very quick process!”

“Refreshing to have a conveyancing firm who are proactive. They were excellent at guiding and prompting us through the process. As a result, our transaction went smoothly and on schedule. The initial document submission being handled online meant for a very quick process, and we could do it piece by piece, rather than wait to put everything in a single envelope and post.”

Commenting on the success to date, Rhodri Howells, Head of Legal Practice, at Sort Legal, said:

“At Sort Legal, we’re committed to improving the Conveyancing process for the end client and improving peace of mind for the intermediary, too. We’ve invested in technology to do just that, and we’re delighted to have seen some great early results, with quicker completions.

“The knock-on impact is improved processes; happy staff and we’ve also seen an increase in the quantity of our 5* reviews. We’re proud to have been awarded an ‘excellent’ score on Trustpilot.”

Sort Group is made up of SortRefer , launched in 2015, Sort Legal launched in 2017, and Sort Move in 2020 with further plans to develop software across the real estate and conveyancing space over the next 3 years.
