Birmingham social purpose law firm Anthony Collins has appointed two legal directors and two senior associates, and in Cheshire, Rowlinsons Solicitors has appointed “widely known” Tim Jordan as a consultant solicitor, adding 40 years of legal experience to its property team.
Kelly McDonnell joins the team at Anthony Collins as legal director and head of conveyancing. Responsible for leading plot sales, home ownership and right-to-buy teams, the former chair of the West Midlands branch of Women in Property has over 20 years’ experience and will be supporting registered providers, local authorities and private clients with all types of property transfer.
“I’ve always enjoyed leading and supporting my teams, so this new role as head of conveyancing is a great opportunity to take everything I’ve learned and put it to good use for a diverse client base, as part of one the country’s most dynamic property law teams,” McDonnell said.
Selina Kong also joins the firm as legal director after 20 years of in-house roles for charities and not-for-profits. With previous positions at the Salvation Army and The Abbeyfield Society, her specialism is in strategic restructuring of property portfolios.
Meanwhile, senior associate Beth Williams joins the firm’s social housing team in the Manchester office and Sian Brown joins the governance team in Birmingham.
New to Rowlinsons, Tim Jordan has specialised in residential property since 1996 after qualifying as a solicitor in 1986. Rowlinsons says he is “particularly well regarded for his work on leasehold matters and has extensive experience advising on complex leasehold transactions, including long standing involvement in the London property market”.
“I am pleased to be joining Rowlinsons,” Jordan said. “I have known the firm for many years and it feels like a great fit for me. Rowlinsons is a forward-thinking practice with a practical approach to property work, and I am looking forward to contributing my experience and supporting the team where it is most needed.”
The firm said he will “support colleagues on complex cases, provide guidance where needed and contribute to the development of the team through mentoring and practical training”.
Tom Parkinson, director and head of property, Rowlinsons, added:
“Tim has a long and respected background in residential property, particularly in complex leasehold matters. His experience will be used to support challenging transactions, provide guidance to colleagues and strengthen the depth of expertise available to our clients.”
