National Conveyancing Week begins today

National Conveyancing Week, a week dedicated to raising the profile of conveyancing and the role of conveyancing professionals in the property transaction process, begins today, Monday 11th March and runs to Friday 15th March. Throughout the week, events and webinars will take place designed to educate and inform professionals from across the property sector, and foster greater collaboration across the community.

National Conveyancing Week was launched in 2023 in part in response to the growing tensions between the parties in the transaction. The profession came under a huge amount of pressure and scrutiny during the wave of demand generated by the re-opening of the property market and the subsequent incentives introduced by the government, including the temporary adjustments to stamp duty.

Speaking at the launch of NCW, Bold Legal Group founder and CEO and one of the organisers of National Conveyancing Week Rob Hailstone described conveyancing as a “role that is largely undervalued, underappreciated and mis- understood.”

In the 20th Century, conveyancers had maybe 10 plates to keep spinning at any one time, now, in the 21st century, it is many many more. And they still keep being added too. The job now is far more challenging than it was, and despite advances in technology, in some quarters there is still a reluctance to adopt and adapt and create efficiencies to enable productivity and streamline workflow. Something needs to change.

Founders David Opie and Rob Hailstone have this short message as the week begins:

The week is separated into a series of morning and afternoon themes on current talking points in the sector. Firms are also encouraged to access the resources on the National Conveyancing Week website to use on social media, websites, client communications and newsletters to show their support for the week.

The links below will take you to the registration page for each of the planned online events.

A full list of events is available on the National Conveyancing Week website.

One of the key events in the week is the opportunity to host a Collaboration Coffee Morning on Wednesday 13th March. Akin to the MacMillan Coffee Mornings, firms are encouraged to open their doors and invite referrers, estate agents and brokers into the office to share information about the conveyancing process and foster greater collaboration. In conjunction with NCW Charity Partner The Conveyancing Foundation, there is an opportunity to raise money for the firm’s chosen charity with the Foundation committed to matching fundraising up to £500.

A free Fundraising Pack is also available to help firms with the organisation elements of the morning and includes a donation collection box, fun office fundraising ideas, and Conveyancing Foundation materials. A range of educational and collaboration resources are also available on the National Conveyancing Week website.
