A new planning appeals service has been announced with aims to make appeals “easier, faster and more cost effective”, according to the GOV.UK website.
The plans include introducing a new form for submitting full planning and householder appeals in some local authority areas of England. The expands on a smaller pilot introduced earlier this year.
The government has been using local planning authorities to test online services for the past year. These were only used for householder appeals but these new “Beta” plans are targeting larger types of planning appeals.
The changes have allowed those submitting appeals for householder or full planning decisions in a range of regions eligible to use the new submission form.
Users will also be able to make their appeals on the GOV.UK site instead of the Appeals Casework Portal. Submission forms will also include built in guidance to help ensure appeals are submitted fully.
