Feel Good Friday: MoneySuperMarket & Birketts

There have been lots of positive things happening across the sector this week, so we wanted to share these good vibes with you as part of our ‘Feel Good Friday’ news items.

Here is a little snap shot of what’s been going on.

MoneySuperMarket extends partnership with Optimus for conveyancing and home survey services

Optimus – the conveyancing panel management specialist for mortgage brokers, lenders, estate agents and introducers – announces today that its agreement with MoneySuperMarket has been extended by a further three years.

In addition to providing panel management services for MoneySuperMarket’s Conveyancing channel, Optimus will now deliver and manage a new Home Survey service for the UK’s leading price comparison website, where customers will be able to access a wide range of professional surveys so they can assess the true condition of a property, prior to purchase.

With a wealth of expertise in the property survey and legal conveyancing sectors, Optimus – which is part of Landmark Information Group – will now support the quotation process for both the conveyancing and survey needs for MoneySuperMarket’s customers, delivering swift quotations from the quality-controlled professional community.

The new property survey service will be launching on the MoneySuperMarket website before the end of the year.

Emma Harvey, Product and Marketing Director at MoneySuperMarket comments:

“Since we launched Optimus’ Conveyancing quotation service for MSM customers in 2019, we have been really happy with the service provided to our customers, particularly considering the difficulties that 2020 has presented in the Housing market, and so we are delighted to extend our partnership for a further three years. The breadth of expertise Optimus has across its business and with its parent company, Landmark Information Group, also makes them ideally placed to support our new home survey service, launching later this year.

“On our mission to digitise Mortgages, we want to make it as easy as possible for customers to access the right services, at the right time and at the right price, so it’s great to work with Optimus, who are able to offer MSM Customers with access to Conveyancing and Home Surveys, which can often be difficult steps for consumers to navigate on their mortgage journey.”

Alan Young, Managing Director at Optimus said:

“We are delighted that MoneySuperMarket has not only extended our existing agreement to manage its conveyancing quotation service for a further three years, but that we have been selected to support them in the expansion of its range of services for homebuyers and owners. We look forward to continuing our working partnership with the team into the future.”

Optimus is committed to providing customers with the best options for a fully digital house-buying journey, one that is focused on integrations across all they key participants and leveraging technology within the Landmark Information Group. The goal is to continuously shorten transaction times and help customers feel better connected and informed, every step of the way in making what is the single biggest purchase of their life.

Birketts celebrates internal talent with round of promotions

Leading regional law firm, Birketts, has announced the promotion of 31 of its talented lawyers across four of its offices.

As a firm committed to training, professional development and inclusivity, Birketts continues to lead the market in terms of talent and expertise and is proud to invest in its employees. These promotions represent an opportunity to celebrate the hard work, ambition and skill of those recognised this year.

Those promoted have been drawn from across the full breadth of Birketts’ service offering, further testament to the calibre of its employees.

These promotions follow another successful twelve months for Birketts. In addition to ending the financial year by merging with boutique legal insurance practice EC3 Legal, the firm rose to the challenges presented by an uncertain societal and economic landscape to win a host of awards, including Winner of ‘Excellence in Client Service’ at The Cambridgeshire and District Law Society awards for the second consecutive year.

Commenting on the promotions, Jonathan Agar, Birketts’ CEO said:

“These promotions highlight the firm’s diverse skillset and speak to the depth of expertise across the business. Birketts’ story is one of consistent growth and progression, and for the firm to have seen revenues rise by 9% even during these challenging times, we must take a moment to recognise the significant part that developing talent from within plays in our success. I have no doubt that these lawyers will serve a crucial role in moving the firm forward to the next chapter.”
