In a recent interview, Tom Bridge, Head of Legal Practice (HOLP) and a Director at Sort Legal LTD, discusses the success of the business, the impact the business is having on the sector and why people are determined and enthusiastic to work for the company.

Please could you provide an overview of your background and current role?

Having spent over thirty years practicing as a solicitor I have worked in a variety of environments and covered numerous areas of law but for the last 15 years I have dealt solely with the management and operation of large conveyancing and probate practices. I have extensive experience of growing and managing such practices and my current role as HOLP at Sort Legal Limited is to manage the growth of the firm from its current position to an anticipated progressive growth spurt over the coming months and years.

What impact has SortRefer had on the conveyancing sector?

Since its launch back in 2009 Sort Refer has provided a Conveyancing solution for Mortgage Intermediaries to assist their clients. Utilising our intuitive an online portal, Mortgage Intermediaries have the flexibility and tools to instruct cases on behalf of client and then track the progress of the case from start to finish, complementing the mortgage service they provide. A major part of the  SortRefer offering is its commitment to excellent customer service and this is complimented by the hand-picked panel of quality conveyancers.

What prompted the move from Etwall offices to Derby Conference Centre?

The move was prompted by a period of continuous growth of the business from its origins in 2009 until 2017. By that time, the company had grown to such an extent that it required larger premises to enable continued recruitment, which was required in order to push the business forward. The move allowed for the expansion of the SortRefer customer service team, the in-house IT development team and also the creation of Sort Legal.
