The onset of spring has seen a series of announcements from law firms and tech companies sharing details of new conveyancing hires and promotions.
Switalskis has appointed four solicitors (main pic) to its residential conveyancing team, including two directors, adding further property expertise to its Wakefield, Bradford, Sheffield and Grimsby offices.
Ed Atkin (pictured far left) joins as director and joint head of conveyancing, bringing 20 years’ experience in property law. He spent almost 15 years at a leading regional firm, eight of those as a partner, before becoming head of residential property at a national firm with a focus on high-value transactions.
Alistair McKinlay (pictured far right) also joins as director and deputy head of conveyancing, with close to 30 years’ experience in residential conveyancing. He qualified in 1997 after training at a Wakefield firm and spent 20 years at a key Leeds firm, becoming equity partner and leading its residential conveyancing team. He then progressed to partner at a Yorkshire firm’s Pontefract office. Alongside his conveyancing work, Alistair was responsible for team leadership, pastoral care and business development.
Switalskis also welcomes two new solicitors: Jessica Carnell (second right) and Lauren Metham (centre). Carnell joins as residential conveyancing solicitor based in Bradford, while Metham joins as a residential conveyancing solicitor in the Sheffield office.
Law firm The Partnership is strengthening its leadership with two senior appointments: Matthew Fenn joins as sales director and Shiley McPherson joins as marketing manager. Fenn has over a decade of experience in the property sector, while McPherson brings 15 years of marketing expertise from a diverse range of industries.
At TWM Solicitors, Raj Sambi (pictured right) has been promoted to head of residential property from her previous role as deputy head of the department. “Raj has been integral to the growth and reputation of our residential practice,” the firm said in a statement. “Her leadership will further strengthen the department’s strategic direction, continue to build and nurture key relationships as well as support our talented team in continuing to deliver an exceptional client experience.”
In Carlisle, Gemma Duncan (left) has been appointed associate at Wragg Mark-Bell. Cited as “one of Carlisle’s leading legal specialists in property conveyancing,” Duncan will help to supervise a team of conveyancers, and she says she is keen to use her 24 years’ experience to help them progress.
“I am delighted to have been made an associate,” she said. “I have wanted the opportunity for this progression where I can train other conveyancers and support them, and also work more closely with the directors.
“I am looking forward to passing on my knowledge to other junior members and giving them the confidence to progress.”
Finally, housing and fintech technology platform OneDome has appointed Jason Bryant (right) as head of growth. With a career spanning over two decades in the industry, Bryant will lead the company’s strategic expansion and be responsible for scaling OneDome’s reach and impact.
