HM Land Registry is changing the way it sends application-related correspondence via email, including requisitions, letters and notices.
From late August, documents will be available via a secure link in an email, instead of a PDF sent as an attachment. The move is designed the increase security and simplicity, HMRL said.
A secure link within the email will give the recipient access to the correspondence and will remain available for 200 days.
Emails will be sent from the address hm.land.registry@notifications.service.gov.uk. The emails will be sent using GOV.UK Notify, a secure government platform that has been used by HMLR to send some notices for more than a year.
The change follows updates to Microsoft’s email software.

Sensible move by HMLR — but the changeover period is the bit conveyancers need to plan for.
Whenever a trusted sender changes format, fraudsters get a free pass: ‘the emails look different now’ stops being a red flag right when it matters most.
Worth briefing your teams on exactly what the genuine notifications.service.gov.uk address looks like before late August, not after.
Is anyone building this into their autumn staff training already?
