Winckworth Sherwood appoints new head of residential property and leasehold enfranchisement

Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its residential property and leasehold enfranchisement team with the appointment of partner Leigh Shapiro.

Leigh joined the firm in February as a Partner and Head of Leasehold Enfranchisement and Residential Property. She was previously a partner and head of the enfranchisement team and led the London residential property team at Irwin Mitchell.

With her specialist leasehold knowledge and property litigation background, she brings considerable strengths and expertise in all aspects of residential property, leasehold reform and leasehold enfranchisement. Her clients include landlords, leaseholders, and wealthy individuals and investors involved in the residential property sector. Commenting on her appointment, Leigh said:

“Winckworth Sherwood has an excellent reputation in the residential property market, acting for developers, social housing providers, investors and homeowners. The firm also has a strong reputation in the leasehold enfranchisement market, acting for leaseholders and landlords. I am thrilled to be joining the firm to build on this reputation.”

Robert Botkai, Senior Partner at Winckworth Sherwood said:

“Leigh’s decision to join the firm and head our specialist residential property and leasehold enfranchisement team is recognition of our leading position in the real estate market. We look forward to the contributions she will bring.”
