The Society of Licensed Conveyancers holds conference in Derby.

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) will be holding a conference entitled ‘Embracing the future of Conveyancing’ on 22nd November in Derby. The headline sponsors of the conference are Conveyancing Liability Solutions (CLS) and TM Group.
The SLC has recently embarked on a process of reinvention as a dynamic and effective professional body to represent the interests of Licensed Conveyancers. It has launched a number of initiatives, a key one of which is a Lenders Panel solution for its members and this solution will be launched at the Conference in Derby.
In addition to this the Society has put together an exciting and invigorating array of topics that are of vital interest for the profession at the present time. Jennifer Bourne from the Council of Mortgage Lenders will give a presentation on mortgage fraud and Paul Broadhead from the Building Societies Association will provide an update on the subject of Lenders Panels. Victor Olowe, CEO of the Council of Licensed Conveyancers will give his thoughts on the future for Licensed Conveyancers and this will cover a wide range of subjects. In addition Alex Roy from the Legal Services Board will speak on Alternative Business Structures under the provisions of the Legal Services Act.
The Conference is relatively unique in that it is aimed directly at the Licensed Conveyancing community, although solicitors, Legal Executives and other legal practitioners are most welcome to attend. Indeed many may be interested in exploring the options that Alternative Business Structures offer to set up under the CLC and enjoy the many benefits of doing so. This conference would be an excellent place to start.
The conference will provide 6 CPD points for Licensed Conveyancers, Solicitors and Legal Executives. It is free to members of the SLC, costs £55 for licensed conveyancers who are not members of the SLC and £110 for all other delegates.
For more information and to register for the conference please e-mail: mail@conveyancers.org.uk or call 0871 423 7193
