Teal Legal and Knight Frank Announce Strategic Partnership

Teal Legal, a  legal technology company specialising in improving property transactions, and Knight Frank- a real estate consultancy, are pleased to announce their strategic partnership.

This collaboration aims to transform the way properties are sold and the way property transactions are undertaken through the automated provision of trusted data throughout the transaction.

The Homeowner’s Passport: A Game-Changer in property transactions

The centrepiece of this partnership is the innovative Home Owner’s Passport, a digital solution that aggregates and presents upfront information on properties uniquely. Here’s how it works:

  1. Upfront Conveyancing: When a property is listed with Knight Frank, the property data is automatically provided directly, ensuring Knight Frank can instantly provide key data points to prospective buyers, whilst crucially meeting their Trading Standards obligations. This information ultimately speeds up the property sale and transaction for the client. That same data set provides ‘upfront conveyancing’ through assisting conveyancers and other stakeholders by removing and confirming the property status way before these issues surface.
  2. Verified Data: HOP aggregates over 700 data points and can present this information to stakeholders in a machine-readable format or via a data feed. HOP is compliant to existing National Trading Standards and Law Society protocol standards which means the data can be passed from point of listing through to the conveyancing process.
  3. Data aggregation and Analytics: HOP data is instantly aggregated from trusted, verified, live and up to date sources such as HM Land Registry.

The partnership will see the Home Owners Passport used to further support Knight Frank’s already exceptional client services by:

  1. Collating the property material information instantly from trusted sources such as HM Land Registry
  2. Seamlessly integrating into the existing Knight Frank client portal ‘My Knight Frank’
  3. Supporting the data feed into the portal listing

Sally Holdway, CEO of Teal Legal: “Our latest partnership with Knight Frank represents a leap forward in the use of upfront information in property transactions. The Homeowner’s Passport empowers homeowners, buyers, estate agents and other key stakeholders with real-time, verified data.”

Tim Hyatt, Head of Residential at Knight Frank, said: “We’re excited to begin this partnership and look forward to working with Teal Legal to radically improve what is a unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating process for all parties, our customers and clients.”
