Survey to hear the voice of females in the property sector

A survey designed to capture the experiences and voices of females working in the property sector is encouraging women from across the residential property sectors to contribute their responses.

First launched in November 2024, the survey has been created to fill a ‘data void’ of anecdotal evidence of discrimination of women in the workplace across the residential property sector. Survey author Susan Gregory says

“Whilst there have been efforts over recent years to amplify women’s voices and acknowledge that women working in the sector may have different experiences from men, there is very little, if any, research (and therefore data) that actually collates the voices and experiences of women. There is also anecdotal evidence of these voices being suppressed, including the use of NDAs to silence women.”

The output, which will provide quantitative and qualitative results, will include aim to identify patterns and trends, and capture the subjective experiences and insights of women in the residential property sector.

There are two versions of the survey; a shorter version which takes c.5 minutes to complete and a longer version which take c. 25-30 minutes. Both are available on the Women in Residential Property website.

“This survey gives women the chance to share their voice, experiences, and stories. It’s the first step towards filling the data gap and amplifying women’s perspectives in shaping a better industry”

“By collecting anonymous insights, we’ll produce a report to spark future conversations, educate decision-makers, and inspire change at our 2025 events. This is your opportunity to be heard.”

concludes Gregory.
