The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has announced a series of regional road shows, which will take place across England this summer. The events will offer all of those involved in the conveyancing profession the opportunity to gain valuable CPD points, while providing access to industry updates from a selection of recognised figures. Topics are expected to range from the new BRA regulations and lenders’ panels to an update on the property Search Code and the implications of the recent adaption of private sewers.
The sessions, which are free for SLC members, will offer attendees the opportunity to secure four Continued Professional Development (CPD) points. Speakers are expected to include, Stephen Desmond, a well-established speaker in this arena, having presented at over 600 CPD events, James Sherwood-Rogers, ex CEO of Landmark and the new Chairman of the Council of Property Search Organisations (CoPSO), along with a representative from the relevant water company serving the location where each event is held.
John Clay, Chairman of the Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) said: “These events provide a vital opportunity for members of the conveyancing community to not only gain valuable CPD points and to access a series of industry updates, but an opportunity to network and meet with others from within the profession. For us, it is important that these sessions are both informative and engaging and add value to our members and the wider conveyancing community.
“Earlier this year we conducted a survey among our members, asking for feedback on the topics that they would like to see covered. We have taken all of this feedback on board and hope that this series of road shows will really provide attendees with some valuable information and updates that can assist them in their day to day working lives. We had a great response to the previous sessions we ran earlier this year and this latest series of road shows promise to be just as successful.”
The road shows, which are sponsored by ETSOS, STL and PSG, will commence at 2pm and will run through to 6pm. Attendance for SLC members is free. For those Licensed Conveyancers that are not members there will be a charge of £50 per person (refundable for those that join the SLC at the event). For non-Licensed Conveyancers, there will be a cost per head of £100.

– Thursday 30th August — Belfry Hotel, Cambridge
– Tuesday 4th September — Novotel Hotel, Reading
– Wednesday 5th September — Jury’s Inn Hotel, Exeter
– Thursday 6th September — Thistle Hotel, Brands Hatch (Dartford)
