The Society of Licensed Conveyancers Conference will be held in Derby on Wednesday the 6th of November in Reach Events, Derby.
Kate Faulkner OBE will be hosting the conference again this year. Simon Law, Chairperson of the Society said:
“The SLC Annual Conference is the ‘go to’ event for conveyancers, property lawyers and legal executives. We have sessions planned on Digital Signatures and it will be great to hear from HMLR and Nationwide on the subject.
We are pleased that Alice Bradley & Nicholas Kissen from Leasehold Advisory Group will be joining us to talk about the Leasehold reform. David Cox from Rightmove and Claire Yates and will be speaking about Material Information and Maria Harris will present on Digitalization of Property data and data Standards. Ian Quayle will join us this year too to update delegates on topical subjects including ID verification.”
They will have two breakout sessions this year which can be attended by both students and any conveyancers who will find it beneficial. John Jones, SLC board member, will be talking about ‘Dealing with sales & purchases involving LPAs or a Deputy’ while Siobhan Connelly will present on ‘Dealing with Completion Day Nightmares. Simon Law added:
“Mental health and well-being is a very important topic, and we will have presentations tailored for Conveyancers from the Chief Executive of LawCare, Elizabeth Rimmer. We have a great line up of speakers and sponsors, and it promises to be an engaging, informative, and interactive CPD event.”
To celebrate and socialise, they will have their usual informal dinner after the conference with drinks reception and entertainment at the Pride Park Stadium in Derby. Simon Law said:
“Following the success of last year’s special presentation at the Dinner to welcome newly qualified Licensed Conveyancers to the profession, we will hold a presentation once again this year. Please encourage your newly qualified colleagues to come along and be part of this celebration.”
