Following a special memorial fundraising day earlier this year, SearchFlow – the UK’s leading provider of property conveyancing search solutions based in Kings Hill, Kent – has raised money for the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) charity in honour of a colleague, James Pilfold, who sadly passed away in December 2018 aged just 27.
A fundraising event was held on what would have been James’ 29th birthday in February and a total of £1,326.97 was donated. Activities included a grand raffle, Bake Off, merchandise stand and sweepstake, with everyone encouraged to wear red in honour of CRY.
James was a seemingly fit and healthy 27-year old, who died suddenly following cardiac complications. He worked in SearchFlow’s software development team and was funny, intelligent, with a social conscience and huge loyalty and love for family and friends. James’ mum, Helen, kindly visited the office to host the raffle draw.
Helen Woolcomb, Software Development Manager of SearchFlow said:
“All proceeds from the fundraising activities has been donated to Cardiac Risk in the Young to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death, support those affected, support CRY’s screening programme, and to fund research and pathology. I would like to thank everyone who got involved and donated; James is missed by his colleagues and we feel honoured to have been able to raise enough money to fund more than 100 screenings to help detect cardiac issues.”
Further donations are welcome and can be made via the ‘Remembering James Pilfold’ page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rememberingjamespilfold. The total amount raised on a dedicated Just Giving page has now reached over £2,500.
