Promises to ease ‘friction’ of homebuying with product that can ‘reduce property sales by 26 days’

A British residential property software company has launched a national home transaction infrastructure brand with the aim of giving industry professionals immediate access to digital services in a bid to ease the ‘friction’ of homebuying.

Houseful, a London company which is owned by Silver Lake Partners and has property website Zoopla under it’s umbrella has unveiled it’s latest innovation – Movemnt. The new brand focuses on streamlining the conveyancing process whilst reducing the need for telephone contact and Houseful claims the transition infrastructure is ‘designed for all property professionals to expand their business’.

Movemnt says it will give estate agents and conveyancers access to data, provide automated communications alongside digital services that will ‘reduce the friction of home purchases’.

Peter Ambrose, CEO of The Partnership comments: “I’m excited by the launch of Movemnt and its capabilities to improve the property transaction journey for all parties involved. The Partnership has been long-term users of the new homes element of Movemnt and it’s delivered fantastic results for us over the years.  With faster and streamlined transactions, I’m looking forward to seeing how Movemnt will build on this in the months to come.”

Movemnt joins the Houseful family of brands which includes estate agent software Alto, new homes software Yourkeys and Hometrack, a UK provider of automated valuations and property insights. The service will be free for estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers and conveyancers. Houseful claims that the use of the new framework could potentially ‘increase the flow of home transactions and reduce sale time for estate agents by 26 days’.

Houseful says that at it’s launch, Movemnt has integrated over 70 conveyancers and brokers, while over 50 agents and housebuilders have already processed a transaction using its functionality. The company anticipates that this scale will ‘increase rapidly’ in the coming weeks.

Those who have participated in the Movemnt initiative since it’s conception have called the product ‘sophisticated’ and the elevation of the infrastructure has ‘enhanced user-friendliness’.

Gurveer Singh Sandhu, Sales Manager at DBK Estate Agents said: “As a member of this journey from its beginning, it’s truly gratifying to witness the remarkable transformation from a mere concept to a fully operational and sophisticated product. Observing (Movemnt’s) evolution over time has been particularly rewarding, as it has progressively enhanced its functionality and user-friendliness ultimately delivering an unparalleled experience for our users.”

Movemnt’s software receives instructions through integrated products such as Zoopla and Yourkeys and Alto and captures information about the property, vendor and buyer early on which will prompt an instant share among collaborating service providers. The information will then be distributed as a progress update for conveyancers and other industry professionals servicing the transaction.

The launch has been hailed as ‘transformational’ by bosses at Software and neatly leverages the might of well known brands under the Houseful conglomerate. Commenting on the launch, Ric Dawson, Chief Operating Officer of Software said:

“Leveraging Houseful’s well-known brands to create Movemnt is truly transformational for the property industry as a whole. We already have a well-established network of conveyancers and brokers to enable a streamlined transaction and will be further building out Movemnt’s partners at speed over the coming weeks. Movemnt is an open platform that anyone can join and we already have dialogues with several other CRM providers to connect Movemnt’s network to their customers.”

What on earth does that mean? As usual the tech people speak gobbledygook while saying nothing in the hope someone somewhere might show an interest.

As usual nothing to see here 😞

  2. Lots of words but nothing telling me what it actually does. “The service will be free for estate agents, mortgage lenders, brokers and conveyancers” Nothing is for free, what’s the catch?

  3. For the love of God!!

Yet another product. Yet more over promising.

The issue in the property transaction isn’t a lack of technology. The problem is the over use of technology at the expense of qualified conveyancers.

Not all conveyancers work to 22plus weeks. Those that don’t tend to value legal thinking and have not attempted to replace qualified conveyancers with algorithms.

The slow businesses, force fed cases by paying referral fees to estate agents who ignore the poor service for a bung, have distorted the market and are encouraged to do so by yet more technology products. It’s a scam. Snake oil salespeople protecting their own interests at the expense of consumers and good estate agents.
