Landmark update residential environmental reports

‘Remastered’ environmental reports will help with streamlining property transactions following feedback from clients and homebuyers say Landmark Information Group.

The environmental search provider says it hopes the updated reports will help conveyancers with the pressures coming ahead of the the first time buyer stamp duty relief deadline in March 2025.

The makeover, which covers reports in Landmark’s residential product portfolio, has drawn inspiration from conveyancers who said they wanted one report to cover all risks with full analysis and reports that could be understood by both conveyancers and homebuyers.

Chris Loaring, Managing Director of Landmark Legal, commented:

“We know from speaking to conveyancers that they are under immense pressure to get transactions processed as quickly – and accurately – as possible. Our remastered environmental reports have been designed with this in mind, providing clear, comprehensive data in a format that’s easy to use and understand. By streamlining access to critical environmental insights, we’re helping conveyancers save valuable time while delivering the confidence they need to advise their clients effectively.”

Landmark’s EnviroSearch and RiskView reports have been updated with climate change reporting modules providing data on future climate risks alongside past and present environmental risks, addressing, say the group, the ‘growing need for clients to make environmentally informed decisions’; for reports that include a coal screen, those indicating no or low coal risk now come with a ‘market-first’ ‘no search required’ certificate; and a new layout presenting environmental risks in an easy-to-read format for both conveyancers and clients.

Landmark say the updates will

“As conveyancers navigate a surge in transactions ahead of next year’s Stamp Duty deadline, the new and upgraded environmental reports are designed to streamline complex information, enabling faster processing and allowing conveyancers to handle more cases efficiently. These improvements will provide conveyancers with the confidence to advise clients on potential environmental risks more quickly.”
