Data mapping and sharing solution launched by well-known brands

Software designed to automate the filing of an AP1, stamp duty returns with HMRC and HMLR, and processing mortgage offers digitally to reduce errors, requisitions and manual data entry has been launched with the backing of two well known conveyancing brands.

Sort Group, which includes Sort Refer and the CLC-regulated Sort Legal, has joined up with Post Partner to design DataColl8, anew solution which delivers ‘bespoke solutions for data mapping and system integration’, saving time, minimising errors and creating greater efficiencies.

The collaboration brings together Kevin Tunnicliffe and Keith Ahmed of Sort Group, and Tom Bailey of Post Partner. While the initial focus will be on law firms and conveyancers, the business says it plans to expand into other sectors in the future.

Speaking about the new joint venture, Tom Bailey who will lead the business as Managing Director of DataColl8, said:

“Having worked closely with busy law firms for the last seven years through Post Partner, it became clear that the natural evolution of ‘information management’ is to help firms extract and move specific data items from documents directly to where they need to be, as efficiently as possible.”

“This is precisely what DataColl8 does across a growing number of document types, thereby automating previously arduous and poorly performed tasks. Whilst the allocation and indexing of documents, which is Post Partner’s stock-in-trade, will remain important, the automatic capture and movement of specified data is likely to be transformational for law firms, and other sectors too, for decades to come.”

“Kev, Keith and the wider team instantly recognised the power DatColl8 can deliver within Sort Legal (a Sort Group owned entity), and throughout the wider legal and financial sector.”

Kevin Tunnicliffe, added:

“I am delighted to be involved in the development and launch of DataColl8, which will heavily reduce the manual data entry tasks in the daily processes for law firms and conveyancers.

“Having Sort Legal as both the primary beneficiary and also the testing ground for DataColl8 is a huge advantage. We are looking to use DataColl8 to replace manual data entry in as many areas as possible. The tools we are developing with Tom are simply more efficient, more accurate and more reliable than a human doing those same tasks manually and will enable our people to be redeployed to more rewarding higher value tasks”.
