Coup for consultant style firm as it brings in respected headhunter

Alternative Legal Services Provider (ALSP) Bamboo has announced the appointment of respected headhunter Liz Smith to develop the group’s approach to recruitment.Liz brings over 25 years’ experience in talent acquisition and development within the legal sector to her new role at Bamboo.

ALSP’s, also know as consultant-style firms, have grown significantly in popularity in recent years. Research conducted last year suggested the growth of consultant law firms was outstripping ‘traditional’ law firms as more than 3,500 lawyers were estimated to be working at Platform law firms by the end of 2023.

Property law continues to be the leading area of law practiced by consultant lawyers, with a small but growing proportion of family and private client lawyers moving over. Commercial litigation, corporate, employment, commercial contracts, intellectual property and IT & telecoms make up the top 10 specialisms practice by ALSPs.

Liz Smith Joins Bamboo as Head of Talent with the remit to attract the best talent to the business. With an extenisve career in legal recruitment and head-hunting Liz has been instrumental in shaping the careers of countless legal professionals.
