Conveyancing Quality Scheme sees 100th accreditation

The Law Society have confirmed that they have accredited their 100th firm under the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), with hundreds more firms still awaiting assessment.
Bournemouth firm, Coles Miller Solicitors LLP, have become the 100th member firm since the scheme was launched back in January this year.
According to the Law Society the first 100 firms, spread out across England and Wales, are already making a difference to the conveyancing market.
Linda Lee, President of the Law Society commented:
"We have received more than 800 applications from solicitors to join the scheme and each applicant firm will undergo the thorough assessment process.
The thinking behind the scheme was not merely a membership or marketing model, but a scheme whereby high quality standards have to be met and maintained.
The application process is thorough, and it has to be to ensure this is a genuine reflection of quality. These first 100 firms have shown they have what it takes to deliver in what is fast becoming a new-look conveyancing market.”
Roger Leedham, Head of Conveyancing at Coles Miller Solicitors LLP, says: "We take great pride in the fact that the firm has achieved this accreditation and especially that Coles Miller are one of the first 100 firms to be awarded this accolade.
"We are aware how important it is that the best conveyancing firms are recognised by a standard of excellence which gives confidence to our clients, lenders and the general public alike.
"As a firm we are very pleased that the Law Society has established this benchmark so that we can demonstrate our level of excellence and expertise."
