Conveyancing Foundation announces highlights for Wellbeing at Work Week

The Conveyancing Foundation has announced details of its inaugural Wellbeing at Work Week, which runs from 6th to 10th October. The initiative, which comes as LawCare’s survey reveals half of legal professionals are considering leaving the sector due to the toll on their health, will champion mental health and overall wellbeing across the property industry.

Events and activities during the week will provide insights, practical advice and real-life experiences to support conveyancers and property professionals, including sessions exploring men’s health, menopause and becoming a mental health champion.

A webinar panel led by Elizabeth Rimmer, CEO of LawCare, with Marc Lansdell (Evolve Law) and Charlotte Moore (Thomas Flavell and Sons) will discuss the results of the survey and offer perspectives from both leadership and frontline conveyancing to highlight the most pressing findings and emerging trends within the profession.

‘This is a must-attend session for anyone invested in understanding and improving wellbeing in the workplace’, the Conveyancing Foundation said.

Rimmer commented:

“Mental health and wellbeing is not a ‘nice to have’, it’s an essential part of everyday life in the law. Our study evidences the challenges people face in our sector but equally it offers practical evidence-based steps that legal workplaces can implement to better support mental health and wellbeing. This webinar is not just about data it’s about how we can all step up to build a healthier profession”

Wellbeing at Work Week will also feature a ‘fireside chat’ on men’s health, led by Henry Crosby (Martello) in conversation with Francis Lloyd-Cummings. The discussion will explore Henry’s personal journey, the challenges he faced with mental health, and how to recognise stress before it becomes detrimental to health.

Attendees will gain practical strategies to encourage honest dialogue, challenge stigma, and build supportive conversations with trusted people within their network. The session will also highlight why investing in mental health support is essential for long-term wellbeing and sustainable performance.

Crosby said:

“I am sincerely thankful to the Conveyancing Foundation for giving me the platform to share my story. While speaking about personal challenges can feel intimidating, I hope that by sharing my journey, others may feel less alone and more empowered to seek support. If my openness encourages even one person to start a conversation about their mental health, then it has truly been worthwhile.”

A candid session on menopause will combining the personal experiences of host Nicola Green with professional expertise to explore the impact on mental wellbeing. The session will dispel common myths, offer practical coping strategies, and create space for honest conversation.

As part of its ongoing commitment to workplace wellbeing, the Conveyancing Foundation continues to promote its Mental Health Champion Course, which equips professionals with the skills to spot the signs of poor mental health, start meaningful conversations and direct colleagues towards the right support.

By creating trained Mental Health Champions within firms, the foundation aims to make progress towards its goal of building supportive, stigma-free environments where wellbeing can thrive.

Registration is free, and firms and individuals are encouraged to share activities on social media using #WAWW25 and #WellbeingAtWorkWeek25 and tagging the Conveyancing Foundation.

The foundation is also seeking Conveyancing Foundation Partners to support its work. Partnerships come with an opportunity to get involved with the Charity Grant Scheme, which offers grants of up to £1,000 to charities nominated by people within the property industry.
