Conveyancers & agents come together for the first time and pledge to help each other

This week saw the first-ever gathering of estate agents and conveyancers determined to improve relations and speed up transaction times for home movers.

The ESTAS Forum took place on Tuesday in London at the Grosvenor House, home of the famous ESTAS Customer Service Awards which take place in October. An audience of 250 agents, conveyancers and suppliers engaged in a series of panel discussions looking at ways they could work together better. The event was co-hosted by Coadjute the blockchain network for the UK property market.

Collaboration was an overriding theme throughout the day and the commercial benefits were demonstrated to the audience. Dan Salmons, CEO of Coadjute, said:

“We were delighted to support this opportunity for agents and conveyancers to come together to discuss collaboration and consider practical steps for how the property market can ‘work together better’. I am hugely grateful to all who took part, both for taking time out of their busy schedules and for engaging in such an open and positive way on the day.

Unsurprisingly, the role of technology in the property process was a central theme, as was the need for the technology itself to work together. Coadjute is committed to helping here, by connecting the platforms and services used in the market to make it easier than ever before for property professionals to find, use and share information regardless of the platform they are using.

This event really felt like a watershed moment for our industry and tangible proof of how the property market can initiate a new era of collaborative people, processes, and technology. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress we can all make in the next 12 months to create a better experience for the buyers and sellers and also the professionals that serve them.”

Ben Marley, Commercial Director at ESTAS, said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback we’ve received from agents and conveyancers who attended. It was the first time ever this audience has met and there was a genuine feeling that we really have kicked started a movement for likeminded agents and conveyancers to ‘work together better’. Everyone who attended left with a simple five-point plan to help their businesses speed up transactions and improve the home moving experience for their clients which is exactly what we wanted to achieve.”

The event was hosted by two of the best known and respected figures in the industry in Rob Hailstone, CEO Bold Legal Group, and Iain McKenzie, CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals. Hailstone said:

“A thoroughly thought-provoking and enjoyable day – co-hosting with my old friend Iain McKenzie was a delight. I would like to think that our time as conveyancer and agent respectively meant the joint audience got a fair and balanced view of both professions’ challenges and client/customer responsibilities!”
