A mentoring programme is being piloted by networking and collaboration group Women in Residential Property seeking members to take part in a six-month trial.
Women in Residential Property (WiRP) was launched in 2017 to foster and facilitate collaboration between women working across all sectors of the residential property industry from development through to agency and conveyancing. The group meets regularly throughout the year for face-to-face networking events where a broad range of topics is debated and discussed.
WiRP was brought into the Today’s Media fold in 2023 with the appointment of new chair Nicola Broomham, who took on the position from founder and longstanding organiser Emma Vigus.
In 2024 the Women in Residential Property podcast launched with discussions covering topics as varied as diversity, communication, confidence, career progression and ‘mansplaining.’ There has also been a move to include more men in the events with an ‘allyship’ programme encouraging all those in the property sector to take part in upcoming WiRP events.
The introduction of a trial mentoring programme provides an opportunity for the group to further the ambitions of members to make new connections, expand networks, and develop professional and personal skills.
“With members from across the property sector, many of whom are in senior positions in their organisations, the mentoring programme offers members the opportunity to tap into some incredible expertise and knowledge; and for mentors it’s an opportunity to give back and offer the benefit of our experience.”
says Chair, Nicola Broomham.
“Through the Women in Residential Property network, we recognised the need for a space where women can connect, build meaningful relationships, and support each other professionally and personally.”
WiRP are seeking 20 volunteers to take part in a 6-month trial of the mentoring scheme. Deadline for registration as a mentor and/or mentee is Friday 25th October.
