The British Conveyancing Awards, sponsored by Groundsure, has raised £5,000 for its chosen charity on the night, the Mindstep Foundation.
Hosted on 13th March at 8 Northumberland Avenue, the awards showcases the work of conveyancers and property professionals up and down the country. The awards once again supported the work of the Conveyancing Foundation; a conduit through which money is raised for good causes with this year’s chosen charity being The Mindstep Foundation.
Launched in memory of Max Davies who died by suicide in 2018, the foundation funds mental health research, awareness and support. One of the largest killers of men under 40, suicide is a hugely sensitive, complex issue with a multitude of causes. By funding research into the causes of suicide, and working to raise awareness of both the warning signs and consequences of mental health conditions going untreated, the Mindstep Foundation aims to break the stigma attached to admitting, confronting and dealing with mental health issues, especially in young men.
Jess Smith, Co-Chair of the Conveyancing Foundation said the sector’s generosity was hugely important
“The British Conveyancing Awards was not only a night to celebrate the successes within the conveyancing profession but also a powerful reminder of how the conveyancing community comes together to support each other. Through initiatives like Be Kind We Care; we’ve seen first-hand the impact of raising awareness and supporting mental health within our profession. Raising £5,000 in one evening for the Mindstep Foundation is a testament to the incredible people in the room, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on vital suicide prevention, mental health research and awareness initiatives, ensuring those in need or who have been effected receive the support they deserve.”

Mindstep Relay 2025
The Mindstep Foundation are aiming to build on the momentum fro the awards by encouraging people to take part in the upcoming Mindstep Relay 2025, an event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for mental health and suicide prevention. Over the course of 3 days, from Friday 28 March 4pm to Sunday 30 March 7pm anyone can choose a one hour time slot to run, sing, dance, DJ and/or any other activity before passing the virtual baton on to the next person. Last year, over a hundred relayers raised thousands for suicide prevention
