The third edition of the British Conveyancing Awards is just around the corner. Alongside a new, larger venue and a new headline sponsor in Groundsure, #BCAwards2023 is all about recognising and rewarding the herculean efforts of conveyancing superheroes who, despite hurdles aplenty, continue to go above and beyond to help clients move into their dream home.
Ahead of the splendour and celebration on the 21st March, Today’s Conveyancer will recognise those who help make the event possible through a series of “Sponsor Spotlight” pieces. Here, we speak to X-Press Legal Services, Boutique Conveyancing Firm of the Year category sponsor.
First of all, tell us who you are and what you do
We are the largest independent property search network with locally owned offices throughout England and Wales. Each office boasts the expertise and insight of local specialists who work seamlessly alongside regional legal and conveyancing firms.
We are proud to offer digital products that enhance workflows while also ensuring our clients are fully compliant and cyber secure throughout every property transaction.
What prompted you to support The British Conveyancing Awards (again) this year?
Conveyancing is the heart of our business and sponsorship was the ideal opportunity to show our support for the industry that we are so passionate about!
Why did Boutique Conveyancing Firm of the Year stand out for you as one to throw your support behind?
The boutique category appealed to us as we are huge champions of small businesses. It’s how we started and how we continue to run our business by enabling team members to have ownership of our local offices.
X-Press have been a provider of services to solicitors and conveyancers for over 25 years. What’s one key change you’ve seen in this period?
The essence of what we do – property searches – really hasn’t changed at all since we started but what has changed is how clients access that data. Digitalisation has revolutionised the industry and continues to do so. It’s an incredible exciting time for us, providing clients with digital products that are enabling them to work far more accurately and efficiently while also remaining compliant.
What’s one key change you’d like to see moving forwards – and how will X-Press be a part of this change?
Digitalisation is without doubt the future of conveyancing but, as a people-centric business, we feel more needs to be done to improve communication between parties during the transaction process.
Our latest products such as the new Quotation Management Platform (QMP) are designed to address this, bringing all parties together – estate agents, conveyancers, solicitors etc. – in one system where every transaction can be viewed and progressed collaboratively.
At X-Press, we don’t believe conveyancing can be professionally completed without human input and expertise. Every new product we develop and client we work with is fully supported by a local X-Press team. We don’t have a central call centre or online bots providing automated answers – we have people who are as passionate about conveyancing and their local patch as their clients!
