Andy Crawshaw of Groundsure on historical mapping and the future of Land Registry

At Legalex this year, we interviewed Andy Crawshaw,  a Strategic Account Manager at Brighton based environmental search provider Groundsure, who spoke about the importance of historical mapping.

Andy spoke of the digitisation of data Groundsure undertook back in 2001 to provide the clearest and most accurate assessment of historical land use. He advised how activities such as fracking are affecting and could potentially affect land in the future.

Andy discussed with Today’s Conveyancer the hot topic of Land Registry, both in terms of its potential privatisation as well as the separate issue of centralising and standardising local authority searches.
