“We would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
The council has been unable to process local authority and personal searches since January 2026 after the transfer to a new IT system let to issues with the data that feeds to land charge search. The council explained it “was not in a format that can be easily synced with the new system,” resulting in problems mapping the data between systems.
The issues resulted in a lengthy backlog including over 7000 searches according to the council.
