A new website has been launched offering visitors property as raffle prizes.
Launched as part of e-commerce business Red Monster Group, the goal of the Homes2Win is to host the current trend emerging on competition websites, where homes are offered as raffle prizes. By paying a small fee and filling in an entry form, applicants will be entered into a draw to win the property – the first being listed by one of the company’s directors. Whilst Robin Benjamin’s home has been valued at £320,000, the eventual winner will have paid just £2.50.
George Schofield, fellow director of the business, commented on the process, as well as the plans for the future, stating: “Although we spoke to a number of large housing developers and have had a lot of other private owners wanting us to put their home up for competition, we decided, in the end, to use a property of our own to test the concept rather than someone else’s.
“We’ve got some really ground-breaking property in the pipeline for 2018 and can’t wait to start revolutionising the industry and changing lives.”
Once the property has been checked by solicitors, Schofield also confirmed that each competition will run for a period of six months, with the funds received covering both Stamp Duty as well as legal costs. In addition to the marketing and running costs, a share of the money will also be given to charity.
In cases where the target price is not met during the six month period, the vendor can choose whether to accept a lower price, run a prize cash draw with the funds built up, or extend the length of the competition for a further six months.
Whilst entrants can only submit one postal entry, they’re free to enter online as many times as they’d like.
The winner is then revealed on the Homes2Win website via a live stream.
