Seeking to expand its conveyancing and family departments, a south Wales law firm has announced the appointment of two new solicitors.

With offices in Cardiff, Pontypool and Newport, Watkins & Gunn Solicitors has recruited Belinda Moseley and Delyth Williams.

Having previously dealt with equity and property matters at Hopkins Law, Williams is also the Cardiff and District Law Society Council’s Equality and Diversity officer.

In her new role at Watkins, Williams will be joining the property department in the Llandaff office of the firm, and will be responsible for dealing with residential conveyancing matters. These will include sales, purchases as well as remortgages.

At the Modern Law Conveyancing Awards, Watkins & Gunn Solictors were “Highly Commended” in the Conveyancing Firm of the Year for Wales category, which has resulted in significant expansion of their property department.

The number of completions has increased by 39% for the firm since 2015, with the fees also growing by over 31%.

Qualifying as a solicitor in 2004, Moseley will be joining the family law department in the Pontypool office of the firm. Prior to moving to South Wales in 2006, Moseley worked in various law firms located in the Midlands.

With a specialist qualification in domestic violence and private children law, Moseley is a resolution panel member and will assist Watkins’ family law department on numerous matters.

Commenting on her appointment, Williams stated: “Having previously undertaken work experience with Watkins & Gunn Solicitors, I have always admired the company’s ethos of ‘exceeding clients’ expectations. Having built foundations in my previous position, I am ready to take on more responsibility and help contribute to developing the property department in Cardiff.”

Moseley stated: “Watkins & Gunn Solicitors has an excellent reputation. I hope that I will be able to add my experience to the firm to continue the very high standard of representation for our clients and look to developing and maintaining links with relevant bodies.”

Also reflecting on the new appointments to the firm was Clive Thomas, Managing Partner: “We’re thrilled that both Delyth and Belinda have joined our team. They are both very talented solicitors who will undoubtedly be huge assets to the firm.

“Our conveyancing and family law departments are really thriving at the moment and this is demonstrated by our recent awards success. We are focused on continuing to grow and expand and these new appointments will help us to do so.”
