X-Press Legal Services has launched a new industry publication for legal professionals.
Launched this week, Compl:ex is X-Press Legal Services’ new in-depth compliance briefing, with informative articles written by leading industry experts. Combining topical subjects with pertinent opinions the free publication is set to become an indispensable resource for conveyancing professionals.
“We are delighted to have delivered this new publication to the conveyancing sector,” commented Lynne Lister, Managing Director of X-Press Legal Services.
“Partnering with law firms and conveyancers across England and Wales we have a unique insight into the legal sector and over recent years have witnessed the rise of compliance and the impact it is having on conveyancing. The SRA recently handed out a penalty of £20,000 to a law firm for failing to have AML policies, training and systems in place. This is its largest fine since raising the threshold from £2,000 to £25,000 last year and demonstrates just how serious the consequences of noncompliance have become.
Compl:ex enables us to explore in depth all the latest facets of compliance, while also providing thought leadership from leading lights within the sector. We are incredibly proud of the talent contributing to our first edition and would welcome requests from within the industry for hot topics they would like us to address in the future.”
Feature articles within Issue 1 of Compl:ex include navigating funds from China, internal whistleblowing, sanction checks on clients and AML. The publication also contains a fascinating podcast on cyber security for law firms with expert insight from Geoff Coote CEO of Pro Networks Ltd.
With 27 franchise offices in England & Wales, X-Press Legal Services is the largest independent property search franchise network. It provides a wraparound service including residential & commercial searches, pre & post completion services, cyber security, and compliance products. The company delivers thousands of searches and reports to the conveyancing sector annually and works with over 500 legal practices.
