Doug Crawford, CEO of "myhomemove", said, "We are investing in the future of the conveyancing profession by supporting the development of a new apprenticeship and we are delighted to make this announcement during National Apprenticeship Week".
They are hoping to welcome the first new apprentices to "myhomemove" in October this year. They already employ around 500 people in their Manchester offices and are in the process of expanding further. In 2013 they opened a Learning and Development Academy this gives all new conveyancers a six week training programme and even experienced conveyancers are required to take courses at the academy to keep their skills up to date.
The government has pledged an additional 40 million pounds to support participation in Higher Apprenticeships.
The CLC, who regulate Licensed conveyancers say they are committed to supporting employers of conveyancers as they work to develop a new standard for apprenticeships in conveyancing.
This helps to protect the consumer and public interest in ensuring that conveyancers provide a professional service.
Matthew Hancock, Skills and Enterprise Minister said: "National Apprenticeship Week is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals and the economy. Further that Apprenticeships become the norm for all ambitious young people and employers looking to grow their own talent".
