Wakefield Metropolitan District Council Scoop National Customer Satisfaction Award

Wakefield Metropolitan District Council was awarded the Customer Satisfaction Award for local authority searches at the 2013 Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence.  The awards have been running for six years and this is the third time the council’s local land charges team has been honoured.   In 2008 and 2009 the department received the Best NLIS Local Land Charges Department award.
The national awards celebrate the work and achievements of local authority local land charges departments which carry out the land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions in England and Wales.
Nominations for this award were made by local authority search customers,  solicitors and licensed conveyancers, who voted for the local authority that they felt provided excellent customer service in terms of quality, reliability and value for money.
Cllr Graham Stokes, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for Corporate Performance, said: “To win this prestigious award is a major achievement and recognises all the hard work and commitment the team has put in.
“This award is especially gratifying as it provides acknowledgement and recognition for our excellent customer service, which is something as a Council we always strive to achieve.”
Solicitors in the Wakefield area praised the local land charges team for their “cost, speed and quality of data” referring to the team as “market leaders when it comes to local property searches”.
John Pickford, Searches Manager at Thames Water Property Searches, who sponsored the award said: “We are proud to sponsor this award, offering customers an excellent customer experience is an important focus for us and it’s good to be able to recognise it in others, congratulations to Wakefield for succeeding in beating some stiff competition!”
The Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence are sponsored by Thames Water Property Searches, NLIS, the Local Land Charges Institute (LLCI), SearchFlow and TM Group (UK).
