TPC launches consultation on capping costs in certain property cases

A consultation on capping costs in certain property cases has been launched by the Tribunal Procedure Committee today (10/11/17).

With an aim to seek views on limiting recoverable expenses, the document relates specifically to leasehold and residential cases heard in the Property Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal.

The existing rules relating to this kind of case are found in the Tribunal Procedure (First-tier Tribunal) (Property Chamber) Rules 2013 and the Tribunal Procedure (Upper Tribunal) (Lands Chamber) Rules 2010. These rules can be found here and here respectively.

The consultation closes on February 2018 – it can be accessed here.
