new partnership

Today’s Conveyancer partners with Valafy

Today’s Conveyancer is pleased to announce a new partnership with business insights firm Valafy that will see the startup share its acumen with the publication’s readership alongside any updates and developments regarding their service.

To mark the partnership, Today’s Conveyancer is working in conjunction with Valafy to offer its readers the chance to win one of 10 conveyancing benchmarking reports which provide “actionable business insights”, telling business owners what they need to know about their business and their wider external environment in order to plan ahead.

To enter the prize draw*, fill in this short form.

“As a business owner,” says Karen Babington, co-founder of Valafy, “What do you want to know? You want to know if you’re charging at the right level; you want to know how efficient you are; you want to know if you’re paying your people correctly.”

The business formally launched in April 2023 with a questionnaire and subsequent benchmarking report. The questionnaire is designed to drill into detail around charges and costs to help firms achieve better profit margins and benchmark the efficiency of the business. This will then inform a report which sets out to provide real-time information about their external environment to enable comparisons with peers.

Chris Harris, co-founder and experienced entrepreneur in the conveyancing market, said:

“There has been significant commentary and discussion about fee levels and whether firms are charging enough. It’s a question I am often asked when consulting for firms.”

Harris went on to suggest that small changes on this front – guided by relevant insights – can have significant impacts.

Karen Babington, co-founder of the business, added:

“One of National Conveyancing Week’s objectives was ensuring that fees can be set and kept at acceptable levels. This is one example of how law firms can work together to do this. Valafy is simply the facilitator.”

* Firms must enter the prize draw via the form by 15th May and then complete the survey by 31st May. A report will only be made available and provided for free subject to a minimum number of 50 law firms undertaking the survey.
