Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP has announced a merger with Bakewell firm, Cockertons.
The deal will see Cockertons become a division of Taylor&Emmet, widening the range of legal services available in the North Derbyshire market town.
Cockertons is to retain its own identity and client base and all 17 employees are to remain at its Bridge Street offices. Partner, Richard Kay, joins Taylor&Emmet’s board, whilst Michael Cockerton will act as a consultant, following his retirement at the end of last year.
John Outram, partner, Taylor&Emmet, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Richard and his colleagues at Cockertons to the team. The two firms differ in size, but we share a common commitment to providing professional and personal legal services.
“We are both deeply rooted in the communities we serve and believe, together, we can develop a thriving business across Sheffield and the Peak District.”
