The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has issued a warning involving con artists claiming to be from Swift Properties and involving a firm called Tams & Co Solicitors.
The SRA has been told that members of the public are being sent e-mails from Swift Properties providing a list of properties that can be purchased at a discount subject to a reservation fee.
They are advised to send the reservation fee to Tams & Co Solicitors.
The SRA does not regulate or authorise a firm called Tams & Co Solicitors.
Therefore any business or transactions through Tams & Co Solicitors is not undertaken by anyone authorised or regulated by the SRA.
The bogus firm is using the address 601 Regents Street, London, W1B 2QD, an e-mail address of info@tamsandco.co.uk, a telephone number of 0207 1274172 and a website of http://www.tamsandco.co.uk/.
Any information about or dealings with Tams & Co Solicitors’ particularly if it involves the payment of money, should be reported to the police.
Affected members of the public can also report the matter to the SRA via fraud@sra.org.uk.
