The Solicitors Regulation Authority has reported a 79% of firms have submitted their diversity data on time, after the exercise was launched last July.
So far, 8,396 firms have submitted data, and the first time reports on workforce diversity have been collected to be published online.
Mehrunnisa Lalani, Director of Inclusion at the SRA, said: “We would like to thank the majority of firms which have provided their diversity information to us as this will give a comprehensive evidence base about the diversity characteristics of the legal workforce in England and Wales.
“Our priority for the next few days is to contact firms that need help entering the data into mySRA. We will then be considering the regulatory options for those firms who have not attempted to comply.”
