Solicitors urged to complete PC renewals process

The SRA have urged solicitors to renew their practising certificate in good time as the deadline for renewals is fast approaching.

The deadline for completing the process Friday 14 December.

Nearly half of solicitors in England and Wales have already either completed or started the renewal process.

Of the anticipated 37,000 bulk or single applications the SRA expects to receive, more than 18,000 are completed or nearing completion.

A contact centre to support those needing help with their renewals will be open 08:00 to 18:00, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 09.30 to 18:00 on Tuesday and 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturday.

Alan Vallance, Director of Organisational Services, said: "We are pleased to report that mySRA is performing well and any issues being experienced by users are minor and easily addressed.

“We urge firms and individuals to complete the online renewals process as soon as possible rather than leaving it until the last minute.

"Those submitting bulk renewals should remember that they can submit their application before the deadline of 14 December, but arrange for your payment to be made later by selecting the ‘Bill Me’ payment option.”
