The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has confirmed that this year’s conference is going ahead as a physical event at the Riverside Centre in Derby on Wednesday 17th November.
With the introduction of appropriate steps to protect against Covid, and an excellent line up of speakers and Panel sessions on offer, bookings for the Conference have been very strong.
Simon Law, SLC Chairperson said
“It has been an extraordinary year for everyone in the conveyancing profession, and our Conference provides the opportunity to take stock, have a day away from the office, interact with fellow professionals and socialise with each other in the evening at the dinner in iPro Stadium.”
Kate Faulkner will be hosting the Conference once again, and the line-up of speakers includes Matt Prior from DLUHC, Mike Harlow from The Land Registry, Mark Hayward from NAEA Property Mark, Emma Cooke from NSEAT, and Ben Elder from RICS. They will cover topics ranging from ID verification and Safe Harbour to regulation of estate agents and cladding and EWS1 forms
With sessions on the move to gather information at the front of the home buying process, the continuing changes to the management of lenders panels, and finding and training the conveyancers of the future, the range of topics covered is very wide. All this will be complemented by a session from the Be Kind We Care initiative on taking care of ourselves and our colleagues

“As ever the Conference will focus on the challenges and increasing complexity that conveyancers face day in and day out in performing such a vital role for homebuyers and sellers. At the same time we will come together as a community of legal professionals and enjoy the company of friends, colleagues and new acquaintances. The Conference is free for members of the Society, and a very reasonable £100 for non-members.
