Reminder: Land Registry consultation deadline

Reminder: Land Registry consultation deadline

Responses to the Land Registry consultation must be received by tomorrow (05/04/17).

The consultation includes proposals put forward by Land Registry which may eventually lead to paper property deeds being replaced by electronic documents.

Through amendment of the 2003 Land Registration Rules, the proposed changes will enable conveyancing to take place entirely electronically.

Land Registry believe that the amendments are the minimum required in order the move the Business Strategy forward. This is pending the result of the Law Commission’s work.

Closing at 6pm tomorrow evening, the consultation seeks the opinions of Land Registry customers, stakeholders and various others who possess an interest in the property market.

A response form can be accessed here.
