Property portal introduces AI-powered feature search function

A new property listing portal has introduced a new way to search for their dream home, enabling home movers to enter descriptive words into the search bar to identify property features they are looking for.

Billed as “home-inspiration playground” search terms including ‘freestanding baths,’ ‘exposed brickwork’ and ‘large gardens’ are promoted on the front page of the website leading to property listings which feature these images, architectural features and designs.

Start-up Jitty says ‘Inspiration AI’ is the first photo search tool for homes. Alongside it’s website a mobile app is available on Apple and Android and there is currently no charge for listing or leads generated through the platform. Its founding team include former Deliveroo and Klarna employees and the business has raised over $2m in funding to date. Graham Paterson, CEO of Jitty, said:

“Inspiration AI isn’t just another feature – it’s a completely new way to search for homes online. It’s like having a personal property finder who listens to exactly what you want to see, and finds you homes with those features. Whether that’s sea views, church conversions, or bathroom inspiration, Inspiration AI will find those homes for you. It really is a magical experience, and we’re proud to be the first property website in the world to offer it. The future of home buying is here, and we’re just getting started.”

The process uses large-language model (LLM) technologies, as well as computer-vision, to read property floor plans and understand photographs and descriptions of homes. The AI reviews the listings to retrieve the most appropriate properties.

Inspiration AI follows the launch of Price Guide and Pre-Market tools already in 2025. Price guide is a tool which show how the price of a property compares to the average in the local area; and pre-market gather pre-market listings directly from estate agents’ marketing emails and serves it up to users.

Other recently added features toward the end of 2024 include a function which searches for property by travel time from a destination, and ‘renovation potential’ filter.
