Katrine Sporle, the current Property Ombudsman is set to retire in the autumn, so the hunt is on for a new candidate.

The new Ombudsman will take up the post in November 2019, and will also hold the position of Chief Executive of The Property Ombudsman (TPO) organisation whose headquarters is based in Salisbury.

About Katrine Sporle

Ms Sporle took up the Property Ombudsman post in September 2015, and was the successor of Christopher Hamer.

Prior to being the Property Ombudsman she was the Chief Executive of the Planning Inspectorate for England and Wales.

In 2010 she was appointed a CBE for outstanding public service.

In 2016, TPO created a deputy Ombudsman role which was subsequently filled by Jane Erskine. It is being thought that she will be the front-runner for the role, if she wished to apply.

How to apply

The position is currently being advertised on the TPO website. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 18th February 2020.
