ProConveyancing opens new headquarters and apprenticeship academy

ProConveyancing, a leading online residential conveyancing firm, has opened its new headquarters and apprenticeship academy in Wirral. The academy, officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral, aims to create 150 new conveyancing jobs over the next five years, by offering apprenticeships to school leavers and other job seekers interested in developing a career in conveyancing and property law.

The conveyancing industry has been facing recruitment and retention challenges for a number of years. This was brought into sharp relief during last year’s stamp duty holiday, which created an enormous caseload backlog across the industry. Through the creation of the apprenticeship academy, ProConveycancing is seeking to achieve a sustainable solution to these challenges, by investing in local job seekers to create qualified conveyancers and other paralegal professionals.

Founded in 2021 as a fully online residential conveyancing firm, ProConveyancing has grown rapidly thanks to its digitization and automation of much of the traditional conveyancing process, combined with its focus on delivering excellent customer service. This has included innovations such as the ProConveyancing mobile app that enables clients to view and manage their cases from their smartphones. Gary Roy Markham, Managing Director of ProConveyancing, said:

“We’re delighted to be expanding and setting up a physical base in Wirral.

This location gives us the ability to grow operations in the Wirral area, taking on many more employees and starting an apprenticeship scheme that will see scores of school leavers educated in property law in the next five years and beyond.”

The ProConveyancing Academy will see apprentices working under the supervision of Head of Legal Practice Hayley Hellon, trained as property law professionals equipped for a career in an important industry with excellent job prospects. Those currently working in a paralegal capacity in conveyancing will also be able to study as part of the ProConveyancing Academy, becoming CLC accredited, licensed conveyancers.
