Pricing confidence – how can conveyancers make more money?

An upcoming webinar aims to shed a light on how conveyancers can be more confident with their pricing and charge more for their work. The webinar will draw on data gathered through the 2024 Bold Legal Group Pricing Confidence Survey conducted earlier this year.

67 firms took part in the survey which revealed firms continue to undercharge, despite the recognition that fees need to be increased to reflect the complexity of work and to manage workloads. Firms believe they should raise prices, but competitive pressures and fear of client pushback remain significant barriers.

The survey also suggested many firms do not fully understand which clients or matters are most profitable, pointing to a need for better education around pricing strategy and financial performance, says survey organiser Shaun Jardine of Big Yellow Penguin.

And many respondents reported concerns over burnout and stress, with work-life balance remaining a significant issue, highlighting the need for firms to manage workloads effectively to prevent staff from becoming overwhelmed.

The webinar will be hosted by former Brethertons CEO, now pricing-trainer Shaun Jardine and Rob Hailstone, founder of the Bold Legal Group.

“This session will provide valuable insights for all those involved in the residential conveyancing industry, with a focus on actionable strategies for improving pricing policies, increasing profitability, and managing workload pressures. Whether you’re a senior leader or fee earner, this discussion will help equip your firm with the tools it needs to thrive.”

said Shaun, adding

“there is a strong demand for training on various pricing methodologies, including value-based pricing and differential pricing based on workload and client factors. Despite this, many firms have not yet embraced the necessary changes to implement these more modern approaches to pricing, which could improve both financial outcomes and client relationships.”
