It’s been two months since Land Data, the National Land Information Service (NLIS) regulator, awarded an official NLIS Channel Licence to On Point Data Ltd (OPD). The OPD team is already thrilled with the progress to date.
On Point Data is an organisation that provides conveyancing and search solutions nationwide. The new licence has granted their business conveyancing clients access to official conveyancing search data directly from every Local Authority in England and Wales, Thames Water, the Coal Authority, and HM Land Registry. OPD Co-founder Kevin Johnson wrote of their experience so far:
“Our partnership with NLIS is already reaping great rewards. We are quickly and seamlessly able to get instructions placed with every Local Authority across England and Wales and we are seeing these being very efficiently acknowledged and put into process.”
When discussing the benefits further, Kevin wrote:
“It means we can confirm expected return timescales quickly and efficiently and manage expectations for all stakeholders. But by far, the best aspect of our NLIS relationship is the open communication channels. The NLIS experts have already more than proved their worth in helping us handle complex and urgent cases with Councils. Our customers and their clients are getting correct results returned with minimal fuss and in the shortest timescales possible.
The team at NLIS has been terrific in enabling and supporting our integration. They are a pleasure to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with how this relationship is flourishing and delivering great results.”
The NLIS network remains the largest aggregator of official searches, accounting for approximately 40% of the official searches market. It is also the only regulated searches portal in the UK, with total focus on maintaining the highest standards of data security, assurance and provenance. Fiona Barron, Land Data Chief Executive said:
“NLIS continues to grow year on year and is an essential part of the UK’s national data infrastructure, delivering authoritative searches to thousands of conveyancing solicitors. With almost 27 million searches completed since NLIS’ launch in 2001, the platform remains one of the industry’s most established and trusted entities. I look forward to a long-term successful relationship with On Point Data who share our vision of a data-driven home buying and selling market, powered by official searches.”
